Code for Daily School Wear
Boys
- Plain black school trousers (+ black belt if needed- not fashion belts or studded belts)
- Plain white shirt (with collar) which must be long enough to tuck into trousers
- Plain black school sweatshirt (of the correct size) with Wolfreton logo
- Black shoes (not boots or trainers)
Girls- Plain black school trousers or a black skirt (+ black belt if needed- not fashion belts or studded belts)
- Plain white blouse/shirt (with collar) which must be long enough to tuck into trousers/skirt
- Plain black school sweatshirt (of the correct size) with Wolfreton logo
- If tights worn- then black or neutral coloured
- Black low-heeled shoes (not boots, trainers or fashion shoes)
All pupils MUST wear a black school sweatshirt with school logo over a plain white shirt that is tucked into plain full length school trousers/skirt and shoes must be black
INAPPROPRIATE SCHOOL CLOTHING
The following items are unsuitable for school wear and are not permitted:
- Shorts or cut down or short legged trousers
- Clothing with any form of logo or advertising other than the school logo
- Jeans, leggings, black denim-like trousers, shell suits, tracksuits, leather, imitation denim or leather fashion trousers or leisure trousers with patterns, or sewn on metal or plastic trim
- Low waisted hipster or bare midriff trousers
- Clothing that is far too small for the wearer
- Fashion or cult trousers or any trousers which are too long and overhang shoes and drag on the ground
- Coloured, studded, chain or fashion trouser belts
- High heeled fashion shoes must NOT be worn
- Sweat bands
- Top coats must be appropriate
- Any item deemed to be inappropriate by the school
Hats
Hats and hoods must not be worn anywhere on school site (except for religious observance or medical need)
Make-Up
Pupils in years 7 to 9 are not permitted to wear make-up and if they arrive at school wearing make-up then they will be asked to remove it by their tutor or Learning Manager. In years 10 and 11 any make-up should be discreet and appropriate for school as decided by the Learning Manager
Body Piercings
Fashionable body piercings are incompatible with work in school. Body piercings and asociated jewellery have the potential to cause harm to the wearer, who could suffer tears, and bleeding to the ear, eyebrow, tongue, stomach, lip or whatever part of the has been pierced
Jewellery
pupils should not wear jewellery in school with the exception of a single stud earring in each ear if the ear has been pierced. No other facial piercings are allowed. Necklaces, bracelets and finger rings and large earings are not allowed and any pupil wearing these items in school will be asked to remove them by the form tutor at registration.
If a pupil disregards the policy after a warning then any jewellery will be confiscated by a form tutor or subject teacher if worn in any lesson, sealed in an envelope and stored securely in the office for the pupil to collect at the end of the day. Should this happen more than once, parents will be requested to collect the jewellery
Dress Code for Games and PE for Boys and Girls
Games:
1 Reversible navy/yellow shirt , navy blue shorts or navy games skirts with navy athletics pants (if the girls prefer), navy socks with gold tops, soccer boots.
2 For outdoor games pupils may wear navy track suits, at the teacher's discretion
PE
3 light blue polo shirt with Wolfreton logo, navy shorts, white socks and clean training shoes
Pupils must bring a change of clothing for physical education, including socks. A change of underwear is strongly recommended. A towel is necessary for pupils wishing to shower. East riding of Yorkshire Council recommend that young people wear mouthguards when taking part in invasive games eg rugby and hockey.
Dress Code for Practical Subjects
1 An apron to protect clothes. this is to comply with Health and Safety legislation and for the requirements of the National Curriculum.
2 For heavy craft work, it is important that strong, practical shoes are worn in workshops
