P.E. and Games
Each child must have a change of clothing as follows:-
- white T shirt or polo shirt and black shorts
Outdoor - Summer
- white T shirt or polo shirt and black shorts or navy sports skirt
- plimsolls or trainers (not trainer boots)
Outdoor - Winter
- As for summer but during the cold weather the children will need extra warm clothing. Tracksuits are ideal but not essential.
Swimming
- A costume, towel and swimming cap.
Please remember, all children's clothes should be marked with their names , and kept in a bag. This helps us and helps the children in the event of anything being mislaid.
Essex County Council policy on health and safety during PE lessons states that all jewellery must be removed, including studs and friendship bracelets. The only exceptions are for children who have recently had their ears pierced, or for medical or religious reasons. There can be no other exceptions and taping over earrings is no longer acceptable. Children will not be allowed to take part in PE lessons if they are wearing any jewellery. If they are wearing such items they will be asked to remove them and although we will do our best to keep them safe, we cannot take responsibility for them. It would be very helpful if you show your children exactly how to remove studs and sleepers for themselves. Even during normal lessons, we ask that earrings be limited to small studs, for safety reasons.
It is also essential that children with long hair have a hair band with which to tie their hair back and away from their eyes for all physical education. Clips are not suitable for this. Long hair, which is not tied back, can be dangerous in lively games activities.
Protective Clothing
It is helpful if each child brings a large, old shirt to wear for painting, clay work, etc.
Lost Property
As there is limited space for the storage of unclaimed clothes, shoes etc. we ask that all property belonging to your child is marked with their name so that the item can be returned to its owner as soon as possible
