Ethical Trading & Sustainability

At YourSchoolUniform.com, we’re committed to helping do our bit for the world. Founded in 2004, YourSchoolUniform.com is part of the Hubaco group of companies. Sister brands include Terra Nova Equipment, Wild Country and Extremities, providing award winning products to the outdoor equipment market worldwide. A thorough knowledge and expertise of fabrics underpins the whole business which is coupled with a robust and ethical supply chain. YourSchoolUniform.com source the majority of their school uniform from a worldwide network of manufacturing partners. Being direct to the manufacturing source brings many advantages, not least the fact that a short supply chain means that parents benefit from competitively priced school uniform for their children. It also means that we have greater control over the quality and continuity of the garments that we produce and by being closer to the source, we enjoy greater transparency over the production methods used.

YourSchoolUniform.com has the ability to maintain the highest possible standards because it sources its garments direct from its manufacturing partners.

Our Suppliers

We work with some of the best, carbon-neutral certified manufacturers in the world that supply us with eco-friendly products, including blazers, jackets, shorts, trousers, dresses, polo shirts, sweat shirts and more.

The Better Cotton Initiative

Our suppliers have partnered with the The Better Cotton Initiative which is the largest cotton sustainability programme in the world. The BCI exsists to make global cotton production better for the farmers who produce it, the environment it grows in and for the sectors future.

Climate Neutral Now

Some of our suppliers are confirmed participants of The United Nations Climate Neutral Now initiative, one of several initiatives launched by the UNFCCC secretariat to increase climate action by engaging non-Party stakeholders.

SEDEX Validated

All Factories are validated using SEDEX (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) ethical trading audits, giving assurance that:

  • Local employment laws are followed.
  • Employment is freely chosen, without employee deposits.
  • Child labour is not used.
  • Working conditions are safe and hygienic.
  • Working hours are not excessive.
  • No harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed.
  • Workers are interviewed for feedback.

Additionally, all chemicals used in the production of the company’s garments are REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) compliant. Parents are therefore safe in the knowledge that any chemical used in the production of our uniform will not harm their child, nor is it harmful to the environment during the production process.

Low Environmental Impact Business

YourSchoolUniform.com ensures it maintains full control over how its garments are produced and maintain a no-landfill, low environmental impact policy for the company’s waste and low energy solutions at its UK site:

  • We use sea freight for transportation, rather than environmentally unfriendly air freight.
  • YourSchoolUniform are committed to first class environmental standards in our company’s modern Clay Cross warehouse, with LED lighting, efficient heating and good standards of insulation.
  • We partner with Derbyshire-based Peak Waste Limited to handle all waste material. Peak Waste has avoided using landfill for over 12 years.
